I think pretty much because Tokyo was a career-defining track for Quruli (even though I'm not really a fan of it). _________________

you can hear a sample of it on the gap's special 40th anniversary site.
i made a comment somewhere else that the sample mirrored the clothing sold at gap, ie unremarkable. _________________ |

Their 9th album comes out September 8th.

Sure, they've been on a decline since 2005 but I'll still be checking this out. I thought the single was alright; it's just not what I prefer coming from them... but I guess the days of Quruli tunes like this or this are over. |

| Has Quruli put out anything good since Antenna? I'm surprised anyone's still paying attention. |

I didn't mind their latest single actually, but I was disappointed when the video didn't follow through with the first minute or two. I was waiting for a montage of their video-ography to happen, which would have been really cool, but they just threw that in their to get me excited.
Also, I liked Tokyo rerere no re a lot. I'm hoping they do more tunes like that on this album. I tried to get into tamashii no yukue but on first listen I really wasn't taken by it. |

Yes, but mostly in the form of singles (Baby I Love You, Mikaduki, etc.). There are some album tracks worth hearing too though (Tonight Is The Night, Blue Lover Blue, etc.). |

guess they decided they're too old to be experimental or forward thinking anymore.
I hate how they don't use sampling or electronics during their shows. All the live versions of World's End Supernova (except for the Philharmonic or Die version where I believe they decided to used the sample) just blow. |

:(
edit: perhaps the change in focus came about when they turned into a 2 person band? _________________ |
